"Forum" - the newsletter for independent pharmacists across Europe

The European Pharmacists Forum (EPF) has just launched the first edition of its quarterly newsletter "Forum" for independent pharmacists across Europe. The newsletter provides a regular update on developments affecting community pharmacy in the eight European countries represented within the EPF, and reports on the meetings of the European Pharmacists Forum which take place quarterly, bringing pharmacists together to debate key topical issues and share best practice. The European Pharmacists Forum is sponsored by Alliance UniChem as a way of cementing its partnership with independent community pharmacists and ensuring that its portfolio of services is tailored to their needs.

The first issue of the newsletter focuses on the outcome of discussions in London in September on the new UK pharmacy contract, and includes a personal view of the future of the European healthcare market from Andrew Witty (President, Pharmaceuticals Europe, GlaxoSmithKline). The newsletter also includes an outline by Ornella Barra, Alliance UniChem Executive Director, of the proposed merger between Alliance UniChem and Boots, an interview with Elvire Kuyck, President of the EPF, and a roundup of news from the EU institutions and from EPF member countries.

The newsletter is being delivered to independent pharmacists by Alliance UniChem's local wholesale businesses, and will also be available to download from the EPF website: http://www.europeanpharmacistsforum.com/epf/html/en/newsletter/newslettersIndex.html. The newsletter is available in seven languages: English, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch and Czech.
