EPF celebrates its fifth anniversary
Ornella Barra, Groups Services Director of Alliance UniChem, told the Forum at a meeting in Lisbon in September 2004 coinciding with its fifth birthday that "we now have the opportunity to move forward on important subjects such as new services and advice proposed by pharmacists to patients and consumers."
Round table
The Lisbon meeting opened with a presentation of the National Association of Portuguese Pharmacists from Joao Cordeiro, President, followed by a short presentation on Alliance UniChem Portugal by Joaquim Simoes, Managing Director. One of the key sessions of the seminar was dedicated to a round table on "The role of the Pharmacist and the Evolution of the European Healthcare System".Chaired by Joao Silveira and closed by Ornella Barra, the round table was attended by Flora Giorgio-Gerlach, General Secretary of the PGEU (Pharmaceutical Group of the European Union). Other presentations included updates from the four Forum Working Groups, the Pharmacy in the UK (Andy Parker), the Pharmacy in the Czech Republic (Lubomir Chudoba) and the range of communication tools for EPF (Yves Romestan).
